1lb of your favorite pizza dough
1/2 c pizza sauce
6 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced thin
1/2 red onion, sliced thin
2 precooked chicken sausage links, sliced thin
1 tbsp olive oil
cornmeal for dusting
About an hour before you start cooking, take the pizza dough out of the fridge.
Preheat the oven with a pizza stone to 425.
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium high heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until nicely browned on both sides (about 7 minutes), then add the sliced red onion and sauté until softened.
Roll your pizza dough out on a floured pizza peel and spread the pizza sauce around in a thin layer, leaving 1/2 inch around the edge for crust. Lay the sliced mozzarella evenly around the pizza. Add the sausage and onions to the top and carefully (using a spatula) onto the pizza stone in the oven.
Bake for about 20 minutes or until the crust feels firm and starts to brown.
